Transportation Referral Categories and Consequences
CATEGORY 1:
Refusing to obey the driver. General profanity: cussing/swearing. Disrespect toward others. Public display of affection. Failure to remain seated/sit in assigned seat. Switching seats while bus is in motion. Forbidden item: food or other. Improper loading/unloading. Verbal Bullying. Bus Disruption
*** Consequences: 1st-Written warning. 2nd & 3rd-2-day bus suspension. 4th-4-day bus suspension. 5th-8-day bus suspension.
CATEGORY 2: Incitement of others-disruption. Selling/trading/extortion. Physical intimidation or bullying. Throwing objects on the bus. Provoking/promoting a fight. Inappropriate physical contact. Possession of matches or lighter. Vandalism-Defacement. Hand/body part out of a window.
*** Consequences: 1st-2-day bus suspension. 2nd-4-day bus suspension. 3rd-8-day bus suspension.
CATEGORY 3: Bus disruption-Severe. Assault/fighting. Sexual Harassment. Sexual Misconduct. Threats/Verbal Abuse. Theft. Vandalism-Severe destruction (**Responsible for cost of repairs). Throwing objects near the driver. Lighting matches/lighter on the bus. Head out of a window.
*** Consequences: 1st-4-day bus suspension. 2nd-8-day bus suspension. 3rd-12-day bus suspension and consideration for long-term/permanent bus suspension.
CATEGORY 4: Possession of illegal items. Possession of unauthorized substances. Possession of a weapon. Sexual Assault. Threats of death. Severe disruption resulting in removal by Peace Officers. Throwing objects directly at the driver.
*** Consequences: Immediate 12-day bus suspension and consideration for long-term/permanent bus suspension. Authorities contacted
